  1. Haha, the SIPA essays were actually not too bad once you got down to it!

I applied for the MPA in Development Practice. If it helps (since its due today!) - for the last one, I decided to focus on skills I had gained through my experiences (academic and extra curricular) that would be helpful for my goals. I guess this was sort of given, because my undergraduate major (computer science) is very remote from what I want to do now, but still gave me a unique skillset that I wanted to put forth somewhere in the application.

I found their admissions blog quite useful btw, have a look if you have time. I'm not very comfortable talking about a poor grade/gap in the application (I feel it just draws attention to it), but the website mentions "Part three can focus on things you are proud of, or perhaps not so proud of".

    Good luck!

  2. Hi Laks004....did you applied to the MPA/ID? Maybe you can help me with a doubt that I have.....some weeks ago a person told me that it is possibly to apply to both the MPA/ID and MPA2 at the same time...do you know if that's true?

    Hi!

Yes, I applied for MPA/ID. From what I remember of the application form, you can only apply to one of the programs. However, you may want to check the online application form directly. Note that the applications for Fall 2011 are closed already though!

    Hope that helped.

  3. Are any of you applying to international development-related programs? I'm looking at the MPP at HKS (with a focus on ID) and the development master's degrees at LSE. If anybody's doing similar stuff and would be up for looking over my SOP, I would greatly appreciate it. I'd be happy to do the same!

I'm largely applying for MPA programs and indicating my preference for international development in the SOP/applications (I'm applying to the MPA/ID at Harvard as well). Just sent you a PM with my SOP, send me yours as well :)
