Hi! Can I ask what discipline you applied to?

My friend was in the BFA program, but I think she was generally dissatisfied with the art department's mood in a way that everyone kind of lacked energy or creativity compared to other art school environments such as RISD or SAIC. It's not her exact wordings but that's what I got. Also my friend didn't really like the recent MFA students' works, though she said more in the past the grad student's works were good and now doing really well in the market. BUT, I also have met another person who's gone to Hunter and said the program is good and recommendable.

Has anyone applied to NYU's MFA program? I have a friend who's gone to its BFA program and said mixed things about the school. I decided to apply anyways because it's one of the few programs in NYC, a city where I really hope to settle in the next stage of my career. Plus, for people who might find this update helpful, NYU just started to send emails to the semi-finalists for the interviews!
