  1. I believe calarts is better regarded maybe ask where on the waitlist are you and see if you can figure out what the chances are of getting off?
  2. Has anyone committed to Columbia visual arts MFA?
  3. has anyone heard back from the Hunter waitlist?
  4. Hi, I also applied and felt my interview went very well so I would be surprised if I didn't get in -- have not heard anything yet. Maybe Monday?
  5. I don't know anything about printmaking but my understanding is Yale is considered the gold standard for MFA programs and will be more affordable.
  6. I am currently waitlisted at Hunter but also between those two schools so curious what you end up deciding! I have heard a lot of waitlisted students get in, which is a bit of a red flag to me because it means a lot of accepted students end up going elsewhere... Not sure what the turnover for Columbia's waitlist is like. BTW, Columbia's MFA show opens at the end of the month.
  7. Right I hear they are way more generous with aid. Congrats again and good luck!!
  8. O nice congrats! How is Yale with financial aid/scholarships? They don't do full rides right?
  9. Oh wow really! Where are you thinking of going instead?
  10. Thanks for your perspective. The cost is definitely a downside but some people have gotten good aid packages, someone I know took out about $20k/year in loans. I didn’t connect with the interviewers who interviewed me Hunter as much as Columbia however, things didn’t “click” if that makes sense vs really getting along with the Columbia faculty. That said I have been waitlisted for Hunter so I’m not sure that’s even an option! It seems like a great program.
  11. Thankkk you! Will give it a shot
  12. Yes I have. I’ve gotten aid but want to negotiate for more. Wondering how to approach those convos
  13. Does anyone have any resources on how to negotiate aid? I don’t have any good competing offers yet unfortunately. This is for Columbia and none of the other schools I applied to are better
  14. I got into Columbia waitlisted by Hunter — would love to hear people’s thoughts on these two and for those accepted which you are leaning towards
  15. Has anyone been accepted into Hunter's program? I was waitlisted and wondering when those accepted need to make a decision by
