Sigh ... ucla ... anyone heard anything post painting interview?

I was accepted into the painting department a couple of weeks ago

How are you all going about asking for more financial aid? Are you emailing the financial aid department or the department you applied to? Does anyone have advice on what to say? I know bringing up other offers is helpful but are you asking for a specific amount?

Totally, that makes sense! Yeah the interview wasn't specific at ALL - when I had my Columbia one the next week they really wanted to talk about the work and that felt really good. Ugh. Torn.

Eeek, isn't it supposed to be funded? My impression of the interview was a little bit different from some of your experiences. It seemed fast and maybe more like a vibe check, but I really loved how the professors answered my questions - it was clear that they really care about their students and are passionate about the school. It was comforting and i did not get the same impression from some of the other schools that I spoke with. The person who called to accept me was also so warm and informative. But I haven't visited yet so we will see !!

I am also curious about people's takes on Rutgers. Mostly it seems like a well regarded program that people speak warmly of.

Anyone have an insight on Columbia vs Rutgers other than the obvious differences in tuition? Painting concentration but also interdisciplinary....
