seems like they’re all on the fiction side though - speaking as a poetry waitlistee desperate for some movement 🥹

just received a waitlist update email from michigan saying that they expect “that a limited number of spaces may become available on or before April 15th” and that they’d need a reply BY the 15th. they also said that they’d be sending out final offer letters between now and the 15th and that they’d need our indication of interest to “help in the final selection process”. anybody fellow michigan waitlistees here? (im poetry btw)

anybody know of people getting off the poetry waitlist/ rejecting their poetry spots at michigan? so far all the movement i see on the draft spreadsheet seems to be on the fiction side! lowkey in my delulu era thinking that 9 spots per genre means there's BOUND to be some movement in both.... TvT

thank you so much for asking and for sharing this info! though am i just hallucinating this or did they at some point on their website state that decisions will go out by mid-March? wondering because 15 March is literally in 2 days.... so they have to accept, waitlist and reject all their applicants by then?

for what it's worth, i've had some pretty drastic changes in personal circumstances and hence was hoping to get some clarity on the decisions release date so i can make plans etc. so i emailed Brown re: estimated decisions dates and this is their reply: Dear Applicant, Your application is currently awaiting a decision from the program. There are no further updates at this time. Best, Admissions Office Brown University Graduate School

hi everyone, been following (all 65 pages) of this thread since its birth, finally bothering to make an account to post!! it's my first time applying, and i only applied to 3 programs due to app fees. i was rejected from cornell, and as of today, waitlisted at michigan! still waiting to hear back from brown. the Draft FB group has been a great resource, but this forum does feel like more of a chatroom space and has been a great source of camaraderie (and collective freak-out) during this nerve-wracking time. btw, wondering if anybody knows- the email i got from michigan said that the waitlist is "very short", though according to an FB post from someone who got off the michigan waitlist last year (and is now at HZWP), they shared that "Michigan's waitlist is quite big from my understanding". wondering if anyone has any insight as to the actual length of the waitlist, and if it varies from year to year? TIA!
