I emailed a little while ago and they said that they're still waiting to hear back from 2 people they've extended offers to. No idea if this is still up to date, because other people have said 5/6 slots are taken. Also, no idea if these are waitlisters they're now extending offers to or still the original 6. I will say the admissions person seemed doubtful that there would be any movement before April 15th, and that most likely people would hold out until the very last second What schools are you deciding between?

For my Syracuse waitlisters, has anyone dared to ask for any more updates about the waitlist status/ how many people accepted/rejected the initial offer? I know 1 person accepted the initial offer as of 3ish weeks ago, and now it looks like someone has rejected their offer and chosen JHU. Any other intel?

BTW, I reached out a few days ago to check in about the Syracuse fiction waitlist and they said that only 1 person had accepted the offer so far. Maybe there's hope for us 😅

I saw something similar happening at UM Medical School. A student's offer was pulled out from under them before they could accept. Very scary.

Thanks for the update Did you email the Graduate Studies Administrator who sent the waitlist email or a faculty at the department?

Ditto! Seeing some of these folks with acceptances to JHU and Iowa and places with 2x the funding gives me some hope, though... It's gonna be a long March!

First Syracuse fiction acceptance out on Draft...

@Eloise2897 have you considered reaching out to admissions? I'm also going crazy waiting for my fiction response but not sure if emailing is a bad look... I might reach out if I haven't heard anything by mid-March.

I'm also waiting on word from Syracuse (fiction). Wondering if they just forgot to send out a batch of rejections? My portal still says "submitted" (but my 2022 rejected application also just says "submitted," so I'm not sure how useful the portal status is---any intel on this?). Trying not to get my hopes up too high because there's a chance my rejection just landed in the ether... Mistakes do happen...
