  1. Personally, I think it's "childish" to run around bragging, but I apologize if I offended anyone.
  2. In, no funding. Email was time-stamped around 11:00, last name is toward the middle. Very annoyed that the dates for their preview weekend are the same as Michigan's. Yet another reason to cross Harris off my list of contenders! Good luck to everybody still waiting!
  3. Ha... my iPhone auto-corrected. (Well, auto-incorrected!) That's what I get for trying to start a topic after an exhausting all-day open house.
  4. Did anybody here go to Duke's admitted students event today? What did y'all think?
  5. Seriously, Chicago? Seriously? I'm perplexed. An admissions office exists pretty much for the sole purpose of reviewing applications. Since the Harris admissions office is evidently not doing that, what ARE they doing?! I can be understanding about the decisions being late... stuff happens. But giving a deadline (7 pm!) and then letting it sail by without a word is just rude. I want my application fee back.
  6. Seriously?! Have they done that in past years? I've never heard of a school doing something like that... if that's what they're doing, that sounds pretty freaking weak to me.
  7. I had an interesting conversation today with someone in the GPPI admissions office. (Since this was an off-the-cuff, one-on-one conversation and the person I spoke with probably wasn't expecting to have their comments splashed all over the internet, I won't put this person's name or title here. Suffice it to say that it was someone with significant authority in that office.) Things from the conversation that might be of interest to current and future GPPI applicants: --They're sending out another batch of snail mail letters tomorrow, so those should arrive in the next few days. --Funding emails went out after admissions emails. (This person did NOT say anything along the lines of "Everybody who's getting funding has been notified." But I did get the impression that if you haven't heard anything about a fellowhip by now... sorry.) --I asked about my particular funding situation... they said that I'm not getting any (sigh), but that I probably would have if my (very low) GRE quantitative score and my (relatively high) GRE verbal score had been reversed. they said that GRE scores and GPA are the two big factors that determine funding, and that the GPA cutoff for funding consideration is usually around a 3.4. Disclaimer: I didn't take notes while I was on the phone, so it's possible that I'm mis-remembering details of what this person said... please take all of the above with a grain of salt. I hope someone finds some of that helpful. Good luck to everybody who's still waiting.
  8. Her March 15th email said, "We expect to have admission decison [sic] and scholarship offers out between March 18 and March 22, 2011." So I guess funding and admissions decisions are coming today. Or not... at this point, who knows?!
  9. I'm starting to think tht maybe a hippopotamus escaped from the Chicago Zoo and trampled Ms. Decarlo.
  10. Full tuition and stipend... gee whizz! I hadn't even dreamed of getting that much funding! I got a letter about need-based financial aid yesterday (just subsidized loans) and thought that was all I was getting, so I was up all night trying to figure out how on earth I could afford Ford. I had finally decided that I just couldn't... and now this! The applications process has been such a fucking emotional rollercoaster... UGH!
  11. THANK YOU! I really owe you a drink.
  12. Yeah, I'm still clinging to hope for a fellowship too. I agree that there are certain ambiguous phrases sprinkled throughout the Wolverine site that suggest there could be more to come. Aside: "Iwantmympp" is a such a great name.
  13. Just checked Wolverine Access and my "Financial Aid Summary" shows a bunch of federal aid (Stafford loans, work-study, etc.) but no merit aid. Oy. Anyway, if you're anxious to hear about funding, you might want to see if your Wolverine account has also been updated.
  14. IN!!! Best wishes, all!
  15. Aw, thanks for the encouragement. I really wish the schools could be a tiny bit more transparent about this stuff... I can't see how these guessing games are to anyone's benefit, really. I am truly ready for this roller-coaster to be over!
