Would you recommend me doing MA in Educational Studies without knowing specific career path but with the topic interest?
I`m an international applicant considering masters degree in Educational Studies in English speaking countries. Since I am from non-English speaking country, I think MA from English speaking countries will open my global career path.
I have about 1 year of teaching experience as a teacher in my home country, and although I like teaching, I want to try broader range of education jobs now.
The one thing clear in my head is I want to do something related to educational equity and justice, and I have specific research interest in this field as well.
But I have so many ideas that I want to do with this degree - education consultant, policy maker, going back to teaching, go for NGO with program design position... there are seriously so many I can think of. I know I cannot do them all and have to focus on one track to get a job but since I haven't tried those field before, I have no idea so far. For this reason, I am also struggling to find the program concentration-social justice education, curriculum and instruction, education policy... there are so many options in Educational Studies.
Some people might say that I need to know what I want before masters, but most of those jobs require masters degree and a few years of working experience so I have do decide my path before trying them. Do you recommend me to do masters in this situation?
