  1. Here here! I'm thrilled to pieces but I suppose it's time now to consider the reality of it all and figure out how to fund this darn thing or accept an offer elsewhere ... eeep! Congrats!
  2. Oh why thank you and no worries, I know how agonizing/ anxiety-inducing this waiting game business can be. Just trying to help over here I'm sorry that you weren't offered admission, Banana21! Sometimes it's simply impossible to know what grad committees are looking for. Hope that things work out for the better and you end up somewhere that turns out to be a much better fit. See that you also applied to Boston and decisions got mailed out today. Good luck!
  3. This thread caught my eye and I couldn't help but to try and alleviate some of your misery. I'm the first person who posted their admission news on the results page. I'm still very surprised that I received an offer so soon, considering my application had not even been complete and in their hands to review for a full three weeks. Don't get me wrong, I'm terribly excited, but also reasonably puzzled/impressed by such an efficient admissions committee. What I think happened is that they gave priority review to members of the Phi Beta Kappa honors society. With the exception of Newhouse, I've never been asked directly on a grad school application about being a member. This question really stuck out to me, and I get the feeling that it had a lot to do with my getting an offer so soon. As a lone prospective student, obviously I'm in no position to confirm or negate this theory, but I don't see why they would ask a question like that if they were not to give PBK initiates special consideration. Thanks for the congrats, by the way. I don't want to create any more anxiety about this application/decision process, and didn't intend to cause a ruckus by posting on the results page. Since apparently no one else has heard back from Newhouse, chances are they're still sorting things out, as are all the other schools out there. I wouldn't panic too much until a huge wave of Newhouse admits/rejects pops up on the board. Good luck!
