I'm afraid I can't provide much info. about Miami's admissions so far - they haven't told me much. I also applied to the PhD program, but without an MA, so I'm assuming the offer will allow me to continue. I received an email from the graduate director last week; all it really said was that I should expect a letter in the coming days (not here, yet) detailing the admissions offer. It didn't offer any stats about the admissions so far or their time table.
If it makes you feel any better, I am most likely going to decline the offer, so at least one spot should open up
