Hi, I'm a fellowship applicant. I received a budget clarification email on March 18 that was for a specific line item, and then received the dates email like most of you. Since then I accepted a different fellowship which would support part of my Boren program for the summer - when I told Boren, they asked me to revise my budget and explain where I would like to use the extra funds. After sending my revision to Boren, I received a response that said that my budget had been "updated in the DB". Who knows what any of this means, but I've enjoyed reading all of the speculation..

I was selected to receive a Turkish FLAS from the Asian and Middle Eastern Studies Center at Duke, but the award letter has a caveat that they "anticipate" receiving funding for all their FLAS fellowships this year, but are awaiting formal confirmation from the Department of Education. Given the large cuts to title VI that have been approved in the new budget, I'm worried. Anyone else in the same boat?

I was admitted to Duke for the MIDP with partial funding, and am awaiting my FLAS result for Turkish. I got an email yesterday that my FLAS application has been "forwarded to the selection committee," and I should find out early April the final result. Don't like all the waiting.
