  1. Hmm, interesting.

Dngo, did you get an email about your financial package? If so, was it the same as what you got in the mail? Basically, I'm wondering if there is anything of interest coming that I can be anticipating...or if its just a paper formate of what we've already gotten.

On a different note, I really want the registration handout to come out so I can get that taken care of soon.

  2. I wasn't able to make it to the Admitted Students Day but any insight from those who did would be really helpful!

Sne1103, are you also in the MPA-HPAM program? What do you plan of specializing in?

Hi there! No I'm doing the MPA-PNP program. Although I have strong interests in international events and thus, the international track...I'm leaning more towards focusing on cultural policy. How about you?

Nice to hear from you Cah101! I'm getting so excited about the move up to NYC and figuring it all out.

Have either of you received anything from NYU in the mail besides a 2-page letter containing the same information as the email they sent a while ago?

  3. Haha, it wasn't until looking around on this blog that I understood just how varied NYU programs were.

Anyone definitely heading to NYU Wagner in the fall?

  4. I just finished reading through this entire thread and want to thank everyone for their useful comments. I was accepted to an MA program at NYU for Fall 2009 and am interested in attending, but am a bit intimidated by the idea of finding housing remotely (from Chicago). I've read Brooklyn, Astoria, etc.... but what really is the best way for an NYU student to get started looking for housing???

Ideally, I'd rent a studio and live by myself but a roommate would do if necessary.

    Thanks all!

Hey there. I don't have a response to your question, but I'd just like to add that I'm also interested in finding out which areas would be ideal for NYU students. I'm planning on attending NYU Wagner in the fall, but I live in Texas at the moment...so I'm quite dumbfounded as to which step I should take first. I'd also like to live in a studio by myself, but I've been seeing prices between $2000 and $3000 for those, so maybe not? Ha.

  5. Do you suppose it hurts or benefits us at all to set up an NetID at this point? I'm tempted to, but I'm not 100% sure I'm going yet.

Update: I just tried to set up an ID but was told only currently active members could do this. I was accepted, but I guess its not "official" at this point.

  6. does anyone know by when we have to officially accept the offer? the deadline?

Hello all. I applied pretty much at 8p on Jan 15th, and got an email yesterday saying I was admitted. Seeing that it was so late, I was expecting to be rejected or waitlisted, so don't loose hope! As far as the deadline goes, I'm pretty sure it's April 15th for those who applied prior to Jan 15th. If you go to http://wagner.nyu.edu/admissions/accepted/ and download the "Fall 2009 Admitted Student Handbook," there is a page with important dates spelling out deadlines and such. Oh, and I have also yet to get anything official in the mail, but I'm anxious to hear about funding.

    Good luck everyone!

  7. Hey there! I'm almost positive I'll be going there in the fall. I haven't made the final decision yet, because I'm waiting to hear from two more programs. But Wagner is the most well respected of the schools I have been accepted to and I freaking love New York City.

  8. I already wrote this within the government affairs section, but to those who have yet to hear of anything from NYU...

I got in contact with one of the staff members at Wagner, and this is what she said:

"Thanks for your email. I am not privy to information about your application but I know that you will get an answer from admissions by the end of this month. I just checked with them about the timeline to confirm and you are in the group that will receive a reply by March 31!"

So, I guess we'll just have to stick around and wait. But it's nice to know my application hasn't been lost...

  9. To those who have yet to hear of any admissions decision from NYU...

  10. I applied to that program too and really hope to hear good things from them soon. I'm not all together sure about the program, but it appears to be very solid in its focus and connections. I'm particularly interested in their Human Rights and Humanitarian Assistance tract. I applied relatively late (end of February), so I hope not to hear too late after my other schools respond. Good luck! Reading about the program and listening to the online "open house" made me really excited about its prospects.
