Still haven't heard anything from UCI, neither an interview request nor a rejection, which is apparently a good thing for anyone out there who hasn't either (spoke with some current students). Still wait listed at UCR.. the 15th can't come soon enough, but sort of pumped on being wait listed at my top two choices. Just 5 more days of waiting!

I think it might just be painting + new genres.

Truth. I have a friend who is currently attending a grad school and got to see all of the applicant work Apparently I made it in the students' top 10 favorites, but I didn't even get an interview. I told her I didn't get in, and her response was something along the lines of "On the other end of this process, I really have no clue how the admissions decisions are made." The right fit will be found, and most of being a working artist is rejection so may as well get used to it now. Not that I don't cry myself to sleep.

I think last year everyone who was accepted was also interviewed..

It's on everyone's prior to login, so it probably is just some administrative note for those deciding.

Waitlisted @ UCR. I'm totally not getting in anywhere for the second year in a row. I know this happens, but ballz.

It's all relative. Some people have entire other careers before going to grad school, some people are like you. Both seem to work.

I still haven't heard anything, and my application says that it is still being processed. Weird. I'll email them by Wednesday if I hear nothing.

Why are you guessing a rejection from UCI? I spoke with admissions and they said the first letters in the process would be going out this & next week.

Waaahhh CalArts was my safety and no interview.. Got an interview last year, though, and I fucked myself cuz of nerves and being sick. I really hope they just don't re-interview.

I just got an email to set up an ID at UC Irvine, which is most likely just so I can check my status once it comes in, but I'm hopeful haha And spoke w someone at UC Riverside, and decisions should be coming out next week. Not sure if anyone else is even applying to these schools..
