My undergraduate degree is in Business with concentrations in Marketing and Accounting. However, my M.A. is in Sociology. I applied to 10 schools and was accepted to 7.

I think the most important thing I've learned through this process is that "fit" is key. What are your research interests? Are they aligned with the faculty interests at your prospective schools? Have you contacted the professors at these schools? If you are in the area it may be worth visiting. Good luck!

I hope since you posted that you have received good news from Harvard or Columbia
. If you don't mind me asking, did you receive a formal rejection from Stanford? If so, was it via email, snail-mail, website, etc.? I'm sure I was also rejected but I have not heard anything. Thanks for your help and good luck! -
I am in the same situation with UC Davis and UC Riverside. When I was initially accepted to UC Davis, I was told that I'd be notified about funding later in Feb. but I still haven't heard anything. The same goes for UC Riverside.
