  1. Rejected by OSU and Georgia today.
  2. I am not applying to SAIC but I am international. I have only heard back from school.
  3. Congrats!
  4. Indiana University in Bloomington.
  5. I just got an acceptance email into IU. Phew...looks like I won't have to go with plan B, should all the others reject me.

I am actually currently living in Muncie, Indiana (northeast part of Indiana) this year. OSU is about a two and a half hour drive from me. You would think I would have heard from them and Indiana University. But I too have not heard a word :/ I did visit OSU in October and they did not mention if they do interviews. They are actually in the process of moving their photography department into another building, I suspect that may be keeping them busy. The new building is going to be much nicer! One of the students was also explaining to me you will also have the choice to choose between a 2 or 3 year program as of 2012.

Last year was: UF USF ASU Uni. of Arizona Columbia Cranbrook Uni. of New Mexico RISID (this years schools are under my signature.) Last year I did not visit any of the schools and I was still a senior. This year now that I had a year off, I visited a lot of schools across the country. This has cost me a boat load...buying plane tickets, renting cars, and paying for hotels. Despite the cost I am so glad I got to go in person and see some of these places. So if it does not work out I will have to bite my tongue and study a so-called "professional" degree. My dad, has helped me out with some of these fees though.... MFA or not, I will always enjoy my photography.
  9. I applied to OSU, and I currently live in Indiana...about 2 and half hours drive away. I have not heard a word....
  10. Hey ASU is my top choice for photography....I have not heard from them and I always log in to check my status. Just says under review. I don't think I will get in though...when I visited in December I was told 90 people apply to photo and they only take 4.
  11. The funny thing is it does not display the year now...at least for me. But when I first made this topic it just showed the 2008 rankings as it always use to. Last night as I logged in to get the sculpture I noticed how the entire layout and rankings had changed! The menu is different too, I can look up a school's name and it may be ranked outside of the top 50...some of them are not ranked though and will not show up. Ok I promise...this will be the last of the screen shots but just so you can see what I mean. (I know its hard to see but you can see they have a school ranked 76th)
  12. It changed last night for me. I have to agree and say they seem more off as UNM goes from 5 to 50 in photography. It may be because I have a premium edition. And if RIT were ranked top or bottom of the ladder you should apply if you want to be there. One of my teachers went to RIT.
  13. Finally... Painting
  14. Photography
  15. Sculpture
  16. I did not see a combined media but I saw multimedia. Multimedia
  17. Hey I sure will. I just logged in and it looks as if they have updated, I am going to redo the photo and painting as well.
  18. I applied to CalArts too and used slideroom. I have not heard anything. I figured since people have already gotten interviews they have rejected me. But it still says "application submitted" when I log back in. I think they either have not looked through all the applicants or they are sending me a rejection by snail mail....
  19. Same here....If I just get into one I will be happy.

When I was an undergradurate I interned at the Atlantic Center for the Arts in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. They have some really awesome artist in residencies. In fact part of my work was to sort out the rejections from the acceptances. I will warn you it is competitive...but you should look into it.
  21. Most of these top schools are elitists in my opinion. I think they choose students who can afford to go not necessary the best.
  22. I actually had a long discussion with the chairmen of my undergraduate photography department. He said to me the only thing the rankings will help you out with is getting noticed out of a pile of applicants when applying to a teaching job. It will higher your chances of getting a job interview but it does guarantee a job. It all comes down to the person and their work. A degree is just a title and it does not say what you can do =) So I agree with you. Go to the school that you like not what U.S. News ranks as the best. To me personally the most misleading ranking would be from 26-11 in the painting. I know I am a photographer so I am no expert when it comes to the painting rankings. But I would personally change the order of some of those.
  23. I have a premium edition to U.S. News which expires this April. I thought I may as well share the wealth for those who were interested. After visiting schools all across the country I think rankings mean nothing now. But for those who are curious I can post screen shots for you. I will put up photography and painting. If you want to see another discipline just let me know. EDIT: I cannot get the image to load as large as it looks on my desktop...cause photo bucket downsizes it to 800 x 600 pixels. 24. Excellent! I hope it goes well for you. Let me know what kind of questions they ask you. I thought about applying to Yale, RISID, and all these other well known programs but I figured my chances are slim to non of getting into a program like Yale. My personal top choice (based on visiting schools this year) is ASU.
  25. Hello everyone, I was wondering if you know of any management programs in the USA for non-business undergraduate majors or programs that are similar in nature? I honestly could only find two. Both happen to be in Florida. UF has one: http://warrington.uf.../academics/msm/ USF does not have management but I was also interested in this program: http://www.ce.usf.edu/ce_masters.html Thanks.
