  1. Also, rejected! Just glad that was the last school I was waiting on. Now I can move forward and actually make a decision.
  2. Thanks for the info, CaitlinCM. Kathiza, my status was just updated this morning, changed from "Under Review" to "Application Complete." It's weird because "Application Complete" was the status I had before "Under Review," and now I'm back to it. Oh well! I actually called yesterday and spoke to someone who said decisions would be sent out via email after the 15th (today). I have a couple of schools breathing down my neck to make a decision sooner than later, but I refuse to do that until I've heard back from everywhere!
  3. Just curious as to whether anyone else applied to this program -- and if so, have you heard anything from them? It's a longshot, but now that this process is winding down I'm eager to hear back from them! I've heard from all of my other schools, but radio silence from Columbia.
  4. Haha, yeah, at this point the school offering $12,000 and the one with no funding (UW-Madison, surprise surprise) are almost certainly off the table. But the process is far from over, so we'll see! I really didn't expect to get accepted anywhere, so this has all been a bit surprising.
  5. That really depends on the city you are living in and the cost of living there. 14-15,000/year might be reasonable for Columbia, MO (Mizzou), but less so for NYC (Columbia Univ). That said, plenty of programs offer about that much in stipends and their students pull it off, either by living cheaply or combining the stipend with a school loan.
  6. Mass Comm PhD offers School A: Full tuition, health insurance, $20,000 stipend, TA/RA-ship, 4 years guaranteed School B: Full tuition, health insurance, $22,000 stipend, TA/RA-ship, 3 years guaranteed School C: Full tuition, health insurance, $21,500 stipend, TA-RA-ship, 3 years guaranteed School D: Full tuition, $12000 stipend, TA/RA-ship, 1 year guaranteed School E: "Offering funding," details TBA
  7. No word here, either. I don't think we'll hear from them until March. My application status hasn't been updated since January 10 and still shows "Pending." The wait is killing me, too!
  8. Has anyone heard from Mass Comm PhDs at Madison, Indiana or Columbia? I thought I had mastered the waiting game, but I couldn't resist checking in with you guys!
  9. I'm not the person who posted that, but I'm about 99% sure it's not Mass Comm. All admitted Mass Comm PhDs are funded at UNC (except maybe international students?), and that posting said "Funding to be decided." So my guess is Comm Studies.
  10. Hey Kathiza (and Seasonal), I was the one who posted the UNC interview to the results board. I applied to the Mass Comm PhD in the School of Journalism and Mass Comm. The interview is in mid-February, so I don't plan to hear anything for a few more weeks. Hope that helps!
