  1. So strange. I just received an email from Ryann (with two n’s) Williams from EPA informing me that I did not get an award this year, and that the official bad news packet will be arriving in the mail sometime soon. At this point in time I wasn’t expecting a fellowship, but why bother sending this email? I didn’t get an email like this last year when my bad news packet showed up super late in June. Well, maybe next year.
  2. F2 ... not J2.. oops, typo above
  3. F2 -- no news here either. Does anyone know if there are any J2's that have gotten calls (Terrestrial Systems Animal Ecology)?
  4. Last year the "deadline" for notification was April 1st, and sometime around April 5th the website finally posted that there was a delay until May 30th ... even so, I didn't get a rejection letter until mid-June. There is a reason they include the "schedule may be changed without notification" clause. Based on the banter from 2010, there were some delays that year as well. "If selected to receive a fellowship, you will be contacted no later than May 1, 2012 and should subsequently receive your official notification of award by July 31, 2012, for the fall term. Please note that this schedule may be changed without notification due to factors that were not anticipated at the time of announcement. The earliest anticipated start date for these awards is September 1, 2012." (http://www.epa.gov/ncer/rfa/2012/2012_star_gradfellow.html) ps- F2, Mountain West, still no word.
  5. @tejwvaz -- I talked with someone today that received a letter of bad news in the Terrestrial Systems Animal Ecology (F2) category. It was post-marked April 12th. No news is good news for me ... and the waiting continues.
  6. Ha! That's what I'm hoping too! (also a W) Keep the hope alive.
