Is anybody else still waiting to hear from Northwestern? I know they did mass rejections via their website early in February, and they also accepted a few people, but I still haven't heard anything, and my online application still has no decision. Is anybody else in a similar situation? Is this some sort of informal waiting list?
I would email the DGS, especially since the recruitment event was on Sunday and Monday.

Accepted to UCLA, but without funding. Attached letter dated with today's date.

Accepted a few a hours ago from UT Austin via email (Modern Europe). The scanned acceptance letter was dated February 17th.

Congratulations to you! I still have no update either way on the admissions site, very frustrating.
It looks like they embargo the admissions decisions (e.g. mine says "Decision Status: Available beginning 2/10/2011"). My decision, like many others, was accessible shortly after midnight (EST).
So, it probably doesn't make any sense to check more than once a day--which should offer some relief if you are like me and were checking the site every 10 minutes.

I thought this, and then I was wait-listed at UIUC. One day I'll have a definitive answer from somewhere.

Those of you who have heard from Northwestern: did you receive an email directing you to the site, or did you just happen to check? If there will be a notification when a decision is reached, there isn't any point to me checking the application website every 20 minutes.

Before the first round of notifications went out for UIUC and Northwestern I was making substantial progress on the last chapter of my thesis, now my level of productivity has completely collapsed. I've just been reduced to sitting around, refreshing my browser, and wildly speculating in the absence of solid evidence. I would just like to hear something.
Incidentally, I've heard through back-channels that the European caucus at Rutgers met late last week to discuss applications.
