  1. Thank you so much, gjason! After all of the countless refreshes, it was so rewarding to finally be able to exhale. Have you decided on which SU you're headed to? Best of luck and congrats on your acceptances!

  2. Thanks, adela_heartless and wtncffts! I couldn't handle the g-forces of space travel, so I'll have to settle for analyzing public policy at ground level. At least until hoverboards become commercially available. Best of luck to both of you! -CE
  3. Applied to 3 schools and received 2 rejections ages ago. Finally, Purdue came through in the clutch today with an acceptance and I'll be enrolling there in the fall. I know it isn't an Ivy, but it was always the best option for my family, so I am feeling very blessed today. Thanks to everyone on the board for the camaraderie and support over these last few months. Good luck to all of you in your endeavors, academic and otherwise! -CE
  4. Indiana basketball fan (Head Coach: Tom Crean) and my topic of research is environmental public policy. Thus, CreanhouseEffect.
  5. Still nothing from Purdue and Iowa. Anybody else waiting to hear from either of these schools or know what's going on? I haven't seen any acceptances or rejections posted. CE
  6. I know it's about fifty notches down the prestige list from HYP, but has anyone heard anything at all from Iowa or Purdue? Any other applicants out there? Bueller? Bueller? CE
  7. Emailed the IUB grad coordinator this morning and received a three-sentence rejection email.
  8. Seems like a slow news day today on the admissions front. My hope is that ad comms are simply paying proper respect to this holiday (i.e., making sacrifices at Teddy Roosevelt's grave so he doesn't come back and beat each and every last one of us with his bare hands) and that tomorrow will follow with an acceptances flood of biblical proportions. Good luck out there, my fellow impatient applicants. And just remember that no news is good news...unless it's bad news...oh please God don't let it be bad news...it's bad news, isn't it?....(checks email).....nope, still no news.
  9. Congrats, morningglory! Isn't this your second oddly timed acceptance? If I were you, I'd brace myself for more good news at about 2:48am EST on Ash Wednesday. Because why not?
  10. The Yale carnage today is overwhelming the results page. Congrats to the survivors and my condolences to those who were dinged. Yale Rejection Day 2011. Never forget.
  11. Hmmmm.....it's quiet. TOO quiet. Is this the calm before the Friday admissions storm?
  12. Still nothing from the Hoosiers. I believe 2/17 was the latest acceptance posted for them in past years, so I have tomorrow circled as my "assume you've been rejected" day. CE
  13. Sorry, civil war. Not that it matters, but I always thought the way they refer to themselves as THE Ohio State University was, well, tremendously douchey. If you get into the school of your choice, you could always pretend to stick it to them by holding a LeBron-esque "Decision" right here on the forums. CE
  14. Nada from IUB over here. Stuck in the middle with you, gjason. And presumably dozens of others.
  15. Those unsentimental bastards. I bet all Valentine's Day rejection letters start with, "It's not you, it's me."
  16. It will be interesting to see if any programs are cold hearted enough to send out rejections on Valentine's Day. They should at least come with assorted chocolates.
  17. Maybe I'm just cynical, but the more OMG's and exclamation points a results post on the main page has, the less inclined I am to believe it.
  18. 100% agree, and thank you. It would be easier if there were some consistency between the schools, i.e. all deadlines on Dec 15th, rejections go out on Feb 1st, acceptances and waitlist notifications on Feb 8th. This is my first time going through this, and so far I most appreciate the early responders. Even if it's a rejection, I'm able to think to myself, "Hey, at least you didn't leave me agonizing over things out of my control for an extra month. And for that, Insert University Name, I thank you."
  19. Well, I guess as long as it's not switching between Comic Sans and Wingdings it's alright? Haha. You're right, everything about that is weird. Thanks for the info! I had just started to think "Well, there's no way they'll send anything out this weekend...breathe easy for a day, old chap" and am shifting to "oh no, why haven't I received a mysterious email from an associate prof with unrelated powerpoints?" Seriously though, congrats on the acceptance and thanks for filling me in on the details. This...is the....longest....month....ever.
  20. Congratulations! That's certainly odd timing. If you don't mind me asking, did it come from Mrs. LaRoche? And what (besides the late hour) made the email bizarre? Thanks!
  21. I thoroughly underestimated how excruciating this waiting process would be. Definitely in need of some beach time...this winter crap is getting old.
  22. I finally broke down and put direct links to my applications on my Safari bookmark bar. It's my way of tricking myself into thinking I'm saving time, when in reality I'm wasting more than ever. Did not anticipate my nerves being this frayed so early in the process, but it's in their hands now. Their pasty, slow-moving hands.
  23. Email asked me to check my "app.applyyourself.com" page, and the application decision link was at the bottom. Program wasn't the best fit, but that full funding guarantee sure would have been nice. Good luck w/ ND and your schools of choice.
  24. I received my rejection notification from Notre Dame on 2/7. Good luck to you!
