Which is why we might as well considering starting our own. We probably don't have too much in common (theory, politics, method), so it wouldn't be a school of thought--so to speak...but we could bill it as the alternative to NSSR...the real university in exile.
Right on. Nor does it prevent us from doing really important work--or working with each other (just like the invisible college during the Scientific Revolution). Collaborative/occasional poli sci blog anyone?
One could imagine that virtually no one who would be writing our letters could have imagined--when they were applying to graduate school--that people like us would be freaking out about getting in. I get the feeling, reading some dissertations from the golden age of the early 1970's, that Political Science graduate programs were very different places both compared with each other and compared to themselves today.
