The MSU campus is pleasant: a decent amount of green spaces that are very well manicured, a barne's and noble, a fantastic sports center, and a football stadium with a 55K plus capacity. Starkville is a pretty small city. It's not quite my cup of tea as I grew up in a city of several million, but the fact that there's little to do is conducive to focusing on graduate work. Overall, I would say there's a good atmosphere. Not my number one choice, but I'm happy here. Where do you attend?
