I was doing pretty well...that owl gif made me pretty anxious though.

Does anyone have any suggestions on where to look for a moderately priced 1 bed room apartment and what one might expect to pay for one this year? There seem to be a lot of complexes, but its hard to tell which are geared toward undergrads and which will be oriented toward grad / professionals.

Graduate Student Conferences?
Joavi replied to NOWAYNOHOW's topic in Writing, Presenting and Publishing
Interesting discussion...I'm wondering now, what are everyone's thoughts on submitting to the student section of a national conference as opposed to a specific interest division? Are there any major pros and cons to picking the student section? Does whether or not the special interest division have a student paper competition play in? -
I wouldn't give up hope just yet! You might still get an offer from MSU (assuming Michigan State?), or maybe you could negotiate a funding offer from SUNY. I've only seen one person note an interview/acceptance from MSU and I'm hopeful that they are still reviewing. I posted the UT Austin interview, so that was for the Org Comm and Tech track..not sure if the others are on separate schedules.

I applied to the org comm and tech track too. I thought that might be the reason we hadn't heard anything! The grad secretary (or maybe it was on the website) had mentioned that only faculty of the particular track you select will be looking at your application. I was kind of bummed, some of the faculty in the interpersonal track are a great fit too. Anyway, no reason to go crazy yet

Of course there is enough content! But why not wrap up the last 5-10 minutes with a little something fun, lighten up some... Anyway, I bought in some snacks for the class to enjoy as we went over the last of the course material...a potluck would have been cool, maybe next time.

So the semester is coming to an end and the last classes are coming up soon. I thought it might be good to wrap up with a fun activity, but I also don't want to treat my students like they are kids or something... Does anyone do things like this? Any ideas?

Did anyone apply for the MA Program? Has anyone heard back yet? The e-mail after application submission said the process takes about 2-4 weeks..
