  1. officially accepted into UC irvine. funding is great on the back end. tricky on the front end. going to have to think about this.
  2. maybe i sounded a little too brash with my willingness to get loans. Really, i'm going to go to the school that gives me the best balance of: general aid / fellowships / TA / opportunities / connections I really just want to use loans to pay for artwork expenses, not school/life expenses. i'm not going to be afraid to go deep if i can make a project happen. I definitely don't want to encourage anyone to get straight up bank loans. Those rates are always terrible.
  3. oh hey, i got that too. hmm. i wonder.
  4. To be honest, I will most likely take out the maximum allowed by the government. firstly, i don't have plans to buy a house/fancy car/boat. So concerns about damage to credit are minimal. it also doesn't hurt that my credit is already terrible. Its not like i'd lose I plan on using my loan money to make the best art I can make. The last thing I want to say during my time in grad school is. I really wanted to make this, but i didn't have the resources to. Grad school for me is all about maximizing the resources being provided to you in order to make you the best you can be. That means taking advantage of all the studio visits, professors, connections, shelter from the real world and awesome loans that the goverment provides. I figure, having come from extreme poverty, whats the worst they can do to me? its not like they can take my degree away, or throw me in jail. but i'm probably just being naive.
  5. i was arranging a visit to coincide with my yale interview. The guy told me they could arrange it, but cautioned that final decisions were being made around the 11th. so needless to say i'm gonna wait until i hear from them before i make my plans. so at least rhinehart is around then.
  6. had placed this in the wrong thread, but I know that MICA Rhinehart sculpture program announces their pick on march 11th.
