Grew up in South Brunswick, avoided Rutgers like the plague coming out of high school, spent the last seven years in Boston getting my BA and MA in linguistics, then I found myself with Rutgers as my first choice PhD program. And I got in.
Even though I grew up around there, I never went into New Brunswick much except to go to the train station. I get the sense that I'll be living in Highland Park which seems to be popular with grads.
