  1. Yep, mabramovich and I got the same email. I'd rather not say which school, but we're consistently near the bottom of the rankings of Aerospace Engineering departments in the United States. Pedigree matters!
  2. We have a decision: THE DREADED WAIT LIST, ACK! I think I'd rather have been rejected flat-out. 35 students were placed on the wait list. For posterity's sake: UGPA: 3.8 GGPA: 3.9 GRE: 800/550/5.0 Research: lots, including a couple conference papers and a Best Paper award Awards: several from my undergrad institution Pedigree: B.S. and M.S. from a state school. We're ranked pretty low and I think this hurt me. Good luck to everyone else still waiting on a decision!
  3. Fellas, there's no use worrying. Just from searching the database, it seems that people have been made offers on or after March 1. Yes the likelihood of being admitted is diminishing in a strictly probabilistic sense, but it's entirely possible that decisions for specific research areas are made in a particular progression. So who knows what's going on except the committee itself?
  4. No idea. But she said that they "still aim" to have all decisions e-mailed by or on March 1. To me that means that a) They've got a lot of applications and They definitely are still admitting people. So I guess all we can do is be patient, although this is absolutely tortuous.
  5. Let not your hearts be troubled! I just got an e-mail reply from their administrator saying that the admits are still rolling out. There is hope yet.
  6. Congratulations, man. Whether you accept or not, just getting admitted is a pretty big achievement. I'd be interested in your research summary/GPA/GRE if you don't mind sharing. (To everyone else: there was an additional PhD admit too. So the ball's a-rollin'!)
  7. I almost hate to point this out, but it appears that an admit was sent out today (check the Results DB). Historically it's taken a few days for all of the admits to filter through. If one of you is the lucky recipient of said admit, don't be shy.
  8. Nah I wouldn't worry yet. Trends from the last couple years show that people have gotten their decisions (both positive and negative) in the final week leading up to March 1. I've also applied to this program. I'm on pins and needles waiting to hear back from them, although I feel like I have only a VERY outside chance of actually getting in. I do have some unique features on my resume that make me a good fit - but so does everyone else. Good luck to you - if you don't mind, please post here when you hear back and I'll return the favor!
