I've worked predomiately in foster care since 2006 and my undergraduate record, which was not in social work, is not that great either. I was .06 away from a 3.0 and submitted 4 transcripts from 4 different schools. But I know that my letters of recommendation were awesome (some people let me read it), and I had a lot help in writting my statement of purpose and was accepted to Hunter. I think if you can really express in your letter why you want a MSW, what you plan to do with it, and what has really lead you to this decision, you should be fine. As far as other programs, I'm sorry I can't help there. I applied to Hunter and was accepted, so I gave up on the other schools that were my back-up. Hopes this helps in anyway.

We interviewed the same day! How funny is that? I believe the acceptance letters will come on the mail.

Has anyone been accepted to Hunter's two year program for fall 2011? If so, when did you apply, have the interview and when did you learn you were accepted? I submitted my application in October and interviewed earlier this month. I am waiting...waiting...waiting to hear back.

I would go with Hunter. Everyone that I know who has gone to NYU or Columbia, and Fordham alumni, have all said if they could have chosen differently they would have gone to Hunter. I think because Hunter is the most competitive, financially better, has a good clinical track. When did you interview? I also interviewed earlier this month and am nervously waiting for an answer.
