  1. Well, in brief, it felt pretty much "standard" to me. Nothing to be enthusiastic or disappointed about. I guess it's "student heavy" in terms of making good use of it
  2. He he, must have been a bit frustrating . . .
  3. I was at the chat too, recognized others too, he he
  4. Thanks for the calm approach
  5. Same here, no scholarship. This does make things easier.
  6. My guess is NehAgg means in regards to international students finding a public sector job in the US? Seems reasonable. I love Georgetown's close knit community and the lesser emphasis on economics. Nevertheless, I do find that SAIS provides a better offset for those that want to keep the private sector door open (in case you are unsure about what you 'll end up doing). Maybe more often the case with international students? For me it's not exactly a dilemma, since odds are I will be getting better funding from SAIS. Of course I am still waiting to find out (from both Schools). Now, if things turn out to be different, it will be a genuine dilemma... I don't like how SFS appears not willing to cooperate with other Schools when it comes to dual degrees. I wish I could make them cooperate on a curriculum with SAIS, but it does not seem possible. I would appreciate an American's view on the faculty at both Schools (especially iDev).
  7. Thanks for taking the time to answer and sorry for the confusion. I was wondering if once accepted at the IR at Syracuse, you could ask to "convert" and enroll for the MPA instead. It is a little far fetched, but I am not sure it's not doable, especially since I have noted my interest in a dual MA IR - MPA degree. Simply, the IR part will have to take place at another School (with which they collaborate on dual degrees).
  8. I know it sounds a bit stupid, but does anyone know if being accepted to the IR program at Syracuse makes it somehow possible to be considered for the MPA instead..? Current year or in the future? It should not be possible due to different admissions procedures and committees e.t.c., right? The reason I ask is the following: If I end up enrolling at another School for IR (e.g. SAIS), "converting" the Syracuse IR offer of admission to an MPA one might open a door for a dual MA/MPA degree, which is ideal for iDev. I guess they would need a new application for that? I don't dare to ask the Syracuse people about it, despite the fact that they have been among the kindest and most helpful with everything so far. BTW, I confirm that April 1st is the date we are told to hold on to in order for both need and merit awards to be announced. Some might learn earlier.
  9. Similar situation here. I 've been admitted to both SAIS and SFS and would be interested in sharing views with others here. SarahL, I admit I am looking forward to your list BTW, I wish I could attend an "admitted students" day, but I don't see it possible.
