I had to do the same, and I was straight up to them. I told them how I was offered more money to go somewhere else and as much as I am interested in going there, I gotta also be reasonable with my finances, so I hope they understood where I was coming from. Even though I am still working out the details I was able to negotiate with them without feeling ackward about it. Hope this helps

I heard from both programs I applied to at mica a while ago (graphic design and social design) I was told today that we are having an open house on April 10th to which most of the class has been invited. I would call admissions and ask them whats the situation

I am in New Haven already. Trying to get ready for the interview and contemplating a beer to calm down... I am way too excited/nervous. On the flip side, US Airways lost my suitcase with all my interviewing clothes....oh well, at least I brought all my pieces with me on the plane.

Yeah just got home to a bog envelope from SVA. Got accepted to the Design as Author program!
-
I went to SAIC for undergrad and hate to say that the school is kind of sloppy when it comes to administration
-
So has anybody applied to Graphic Design Programs in Europe? Netherlands, Finland, UK? if so, where?
-
Sure I will, how about you? where are you applying?
-
I see... Yeah now it really is between MICA and VCU. Not sure which way to go. I have yet to hear back from YALE after my interview next week but funding for YALE just seems unreachable.... How about you?
-
Has anybody else heard from VCU for Visual Communications? I got accepted but they don't have any funding, or at least that's what I have been told
-
Couldn't agree more with you, it's great to get accepted but schools are way too expensive! I suppose we better see this as an investment... A very expensive investment...

Same here, got an acceptance letter on Saturday. No funding and I was told by admissions that if I didn't get any merit scholarship info there, then I didn't get any. Need-based money is available through the Financial Aid Office as far as I know... Congrats on your acceptance!
-
thanks! yeah, it is my first choice so now it is all up to the funding I can get... (still on the works)

No, actually it was a very personal email that talked about my work and why they wanted me in the program. Ellen Lupton and Mike Weikert emailed me for the different programs. I also got a call from Admissions yesterday, and an admissions packet last night.
-
I did, got an acceptance letter to the GD and Social Design programs
-
I got a call yesterday, the admissions packet at night and a couple fo emails last week, but they said they were still contacting people
-
Got official acceptance letters from MICA's GD and Social Design program in the mail last night , I suppose for everybody else who is expecting news from MICA, they should be on its way if they didn't make it already
-
yeah I got the same email, but I got an acceptance letter a few weeks ago (for a different program), I think you should just get in contact with them and see if they can tell you something
-
was it about the new scholarship thing Margot and Thomas Pritzker Family Foundation ?
-
great! thanks so much. Can't wait, this wait is no fun...
-
I know CCA already let us know about acceptances last week via webadvisor, but has anybody heard about financial aid, or gotten official letters yet?
-
I got an email from Ellen Lupton, she said we will be getting notices in the mail soon tho, i was also told that they will be contacting people Friday and Monday, so it is possible that they will contact you on Monday. I went to Baltimore for my interview too, I loved their program, what day where you there?
-
Just got accepted to MICA's Graphic Design MFA! so excited! I am told they will be sending official acceptance letters next week
-
I haven't gotten that response, but I hear the Post Bac program at SAIC is good and you get a good training for applying to the full MFA program. SAIC gets about 150 applicants varying on the year, and usually have a 25 people class, some of them being the post bac students form the previous year and about 15-20 newly admitted grad students.
