I've been accepted to University of Illinois -Chicago program, but waiting to hear back on funding. Anybody familiar with this program? Reputation? Thanks!

Thanks! Should I find it strange that nobody on here applied there. It's a pretty big school with a great reputation for their CLJ program from what I heard so far. Do you know how many students are admitted to criminology programs in general?

Hi all, As this is my last time applying (currently waitlisted everwhere!)-I'm curious what options I have to still stay in this field with only an M.A.? Where can I gain employment teaching, researching or clinical consulting? I have 7 years of research experience, substantial clinical experience, publications, presentations, good letters of recommendation and excellent GPA. Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks! (loosing hope here).

Hi all, I was accepted into UIC's program. Can anyone offer any information about this program other than what's on the website, etc. Does anybody know if they offer a full tuition wavier or stipend? Any current students on here? Thanks!

I'm besides myself. As UofA is a mentor model-I know who got the offer and I'm desperate for them to turn it down (selfish of me, I know) because I know they have other offers. I'm first in line if they turn it down, but still. It's hard to have hope and know i'm not first pick. I'm waitlisted at my #2 and alternate at my #3. No other offers.

Why did he recommend going elsewhere for a PhD if you don't mind me asking?

Are you currently attending their clinical program? (It says currently attending on your status). Or did you apply to their PhD program?

I was told on interview day that we were going to be funded for 5 years. Plus, most get paid externships.

The campus is beautiful! More importantly, the faculty and students really like each other and students get along great! There is so much support in a relaxed (it's tucson), yet productive atmosphere. They are rated #3 in the country for faculty and students publications. There is just a real sense of family and the students really seem happy in the program. It appears to be a collaborative environment that is respectful, warm and empowering. These are all things that were especially important to me aside from their impressive academic and professional resources. I'm so jealous that you know!!! I guess the clinical are the last to know. I really hope I am not waiting for a month just to be rejected. I would be devastated!

Yes, I got such a great vibe! Where else did you interview for social? I'm waiting on another program (clinical) post interview. I really want to email my POI,, but trying to be patient.

Oh man!! It's my top choice! My POI interviewed three of us...so I guess I have 1 in 3 chance of getting in! I don't think I can wait another 2 weeks. Yikes! Good luck and at least we are not rejected ...yet.
