EDIT - My post wasn't so clear. So far as I understand, the final meeting is Friday, but not sure when letters will follow.
Well, not to be mean (especially since I seem to have not gotten into two of my three), departments have much more of an incentive to email the people they want to admit than the ones they don't. They have to prioritize.
For what it's worth, I was told by someone (a prof) who spoke with the DGS at Chicago late last week that they are actually looking to bring in 10-14 students.
Would any Chicago admits be willing to share their stats? I would be really curious to see exactly what it takes to get in there.
I have a 3.82 UGPA, 3.75 Grad GPA from a pretty solid school, a forthcoming book chapter, some conference presentations, and some research and travel grants. But that apparently is not enough to even get waitlisted.
