  1. I feel that way, too. I've been so bored with regular life. I'm excited to be in an intellectually stimulating environment again. A little scared, but really excited.
  2. Do you guys know what your living arrangements will be? University housing or off-campus? What are you basing your decision on?
  3. I just accepted an offer for the PhD in English (Film Studies track). Anyone else?
  4. I've been accepted to only one program with decent funding, so I'm certain that I'm going to go there. That said, I'd really like to go to the Open House weekend, but they are not funding travel expenses, and the plane tickets are rather on the steep side. How important is it to attend one of these events? Should I just suck it up, pay with a credit card and go? Or is it something that isn't a big deal if it's missed? I'd really appreciate any input.
  5. Oh, sorry, I'm the one who's being obtuse. I applied for the Film Studies track, and just assumed that the department was divided up into several tracks rather than most of it just being good ol' English.
  6. Oh yay! Thank you. Congrats to you, too! Which track did you apply for, if you don't mind me asking?
  7. I found out my status through the same link where I applied. https://gradweb.uoregon.edu/online_app/application/guidelines2.htm and then "Click here to login" I am, however, somewhat paranoid that the department recommended admittance with no call, no e-mail, no letter, and a "pending" graduate school status is not very reliable. Anyone hear anything official about the English program?
