I'm going to be in the capital UB for two weeks this summer to conduct a preliminary study for the Fulbright project "Environmental determinants for mercury remediation from small-scale gold and coal mining in Mongolia".

Relief at last!!! Accepted for Fulbright Full grant to Mongolia Post mark April 26 Received April 30 Thank you EVERYONE for all your support and the best of luck to all who are waiting to hear their news.

For Fulbright Mongolia applicants: I received this reply from Jonathan Akeley this morning, much to my dismay: "It's not possible to predict exactly when the final results will become available, but we're hoping that the final notification letters for Mongolia will go out by the end of April" Hang on guys :-)

I definitely believe (and very much praying) that it does refer to the Fulbright-Hayes DDRP. I had read this a while back when I was trying to figure out if I could keep my doctoral research assistant stipend in addition to the Fulbright stipend. I found the same stipulation in another hard-to-find document online. I intend to use the Fulbright for research funding rather than living expenses anyway, because if I don't I won't be accomplishing very much in Mongolia!
