Finally made my decision as well: Michigan! It was odd navigating the choice to turn down my best offer at Brown, but Michigan also came through with great funding. After numerous conversations with my advisor, I felt like I had a better fit there as well, and I'm excited that the program will allow me to chart my own course to some extent. Congrats to everyone who has made a decision, and best of luck to those still deciding.
Anybody considering Brown's UEP program? I have a pretty tremendous offer, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of information out there about the program.
Thanks for posting and congrats to both of you! I'm also on the waitlist. Braden says it's not "linear," so I'm wondering if either of you can give any insight into how choices are made. For instance, is there one candidate waiting in the wings for each sub-field? That is, were you admitted because a previous 19th century lit candidate declined? You may not know this specifically, but I thought I'd check.
Once again, congrats!
