Any other Iceland applicants receive notice today? I'm ecstatic to say I got the big manilla envelope!
This might be taboo to reveal, but for what it's worth to anyone out there: I applied last year for a Fulbright and didn't even make it to the finalist round. I completely reworked my application, started from absolute scratch even choosing a different (but closely related) country in which to work. So if things didn't work out for you this year, they mean it when they say that you can apply again. Good luck to all still waiting.
Hey fellow Iceland applicants--- I made a few phone calls today, and it sounds like the letters went out in the mail yesterday! The wait is almost over!
Yes, the spread sheet is messed up... but more complicated than shifting down two rows, I can't actually detect the pattern of how it was messed up, but it currently has me as an applicant for India at least five rows down from my rightful Icelandic spot. None of the other Iceland applicants have actually heard, right?
I haven't heard anything additional from Rachel - my hypothesis is that "one to two weeks" is just the standard reply, regardless of whether we should actually expect an answer in "one to two weeks"... but if you want to e-mail tomorrow, that'd be great!
My application involves research through the University of Iceland.
By the way, did you ever hear from ASF?
Ah! Thank you! I guess since all the other Iceland applicants have been silent bystanders (myself included until now) it might have seemed like there wasn't an audience.
Best of luck to you!
Hi Norway! It's definitely tough to plan so far in advance and juggle all the different grant/academic applications at once - it seems like something always slip by and you later think "if only I'd gone for that then everything would have been perfect..."
I got excited when I started to see the Finland notifications trickle in, but I'm guessing there's no Nordic unity when it comes to Fulbright notifications. Good luck!!
