Hmm thats really strange! Perhaps they made the decision for your Vanier early and sent the rejection letter for the CGS? Though, they did say to me in an email that the two competitions are completely separate. Man this must have been a stressful time for you - not knowing! Congrats . Still waiting out here on the East Coast for NSERC-Vanier notification.

Do we get a rejection letter? Or do we wait until the announce the winners I wonder.....

Response from NSERC-Vanier: "The Vanier CGS and the PGS/CGS programs are completely separate programs; a response in one is not an indication of results in the other. The letters for Vanier will be mailed next week." So kids, looks like we'll know soon enough. Good luck everyone

I actually just got my CGSD3 letter on monday (yay - super stoked). So I assume I'm out of the running for the Vanier which is ok, not going to complain about a CGS. I emailed NSERC-Vanier to see when/how we'll be notified, but haven't heard back, I'll definitely post the response. I bet that since the CIHR (and perhaps SSHRC) competitions have not been announced yet the Vaniers haven't even been decided or NSERC is waiting for the other two councils... who knows. I kinda just want to know one way or the other now.

Congrats to all successful applicants! I can't believe the cuts they made this year, its really not fair - and yet they decided to fund all these Vaniers, very very silly. And yet I still applied to the vanier competition... I got a CGSD3 letter yesterday - does anyone know about the Vanier application? I assume that since I received notification of a CGSD that i likely did not get a Vanier? Do we get a rejection notification from them?

I was told by our graduate coordinator that I got a CGSD3 however I have not got a letter yet (while everyone else has), this may be a good sign? Haven't heard a peep from Vanier.
