Hey everyone, I was awarded an ETA to Germany, and airfare is proving to be a little bit of a challenge. I have been in contact with STA, and have no desire whatsoever to pay over $400 extra just to book through them when I have found multiple tickets for less than $1300 (which, for Germany ETAs is all that Fulbright covers). Does anyone know if it is possible to buy a ticket through an online agency (Orbitz, Expedia, Kayak, etc.) and then get reimbursed by Fulbright? Or do you really HAVE to book through STA?

Where in Hessen will you be? I found out today that I got placed in a tiny town called Nidda.... It's got about 17,000 people, and it's not near ANY bigger towns. I'm kind of at a loss as far as apartment hunting, transportation, etc.

Hey all, I've received an ETA to Germany, but have still not heard from anyone where exactly i will be. Is anyone else in this situation?

YAY!!! Got my acceptance letter for a German ETA position! Now I can actually figure out what I'm going to do with my life! Good luck to everyone who hasn't heard back, and congrats to everyone else that has also received one!!!!

I just saw the mail truck drive by. Considered stopping him and begging him to tell me if there's any mail for me. Decided that wasn't the best idea I've ever had, and am now staring out the window at my mailbox, waiting for him to deliver my mail....

Okay, so it looks like a couple people have heard from Germany about ETA positions today... I'm waiting on a letter, but am in the midwest. What are the chances that more of us will hear today? Has anyone else heard anything yet?

WHERE IS MY *#$^%*# LETTER?!?! I'm a finalist for the German ETA... Didn't they receive notice by 3/22 last year? I think I might have a heart attack before I even get my stupid letter. Anyone heard anything yet?
