Hey, I did my graduation in Electrical Engineering and my final year thesis was about 4G Network Planning. Now I intend to get into a grad school in the US but I wanna study VLSI, a completely different area than wireless communication. Will it affect my chances of getting admission that my thesis in undergrad was in a different study area. I've got good scores on my GRE (670 verbal, 800 quantitative) and a good CGPA (81%) as well.

Same here, I've applied to the summer 2011 session for MS-ECE. They should consider the fact that international students have to go through the immigration process as well after being accepted which takes at least a month.
