I'll be on the other side of the bay in Beijing.
-
Congrats Fernando. See you in DC! Where in China are you headed?
-
Hey there's always next year. Also if you are late in your grad career, there's a post-doc version of this grant called International Research Fellowship Program.
-
Tentative offers for China are going out now. You should have already received an email about hotel arrangements (about 10 minutes ago), and the offer emails are rolling out gradually.
-
Nothing. I'm too busy today to try calling again, but as of the end of last week, there was nobody taking calls anyway.
-
Same today. Looks like we are all waiting. I guess the good news is that we can stop worrying about whether everybody else applying for China got an acceptance yet...
-
Updated list. If you get some info, please post so we can keep everybody updated. China: Announcements imminent (review completed, waiting for hosts) Singapore: Still under review until Monday Japan: Several announcments went out 2 March... not sure if any remaining. Korea: Some announcements, possibly not concluded Australia: Closed - If you didn't get one yet, you probably won't. New Zealand: Closed - If you didn't get one yet, you won't.

Happy to help. This process has been so nerve-wracking, I want to save us all the agony. I called to check the status of my app, but I won't say anything until all the chips are down... I did not intend to lump Taiwan with China, but I haven't heard any reports from Taiwan applicants on this board yet. If anybody has received a letter regarding Taiwan, speak up!

Looks like I can't edit my old list any more, so here's the latest, based on your responses: China: Announcements imminent (review completed, waiting for hosts) Singapore: Still under review until Monday Japan and Korea: Some announcements, possibly not concluded Australia: Closed - If you didn't get one yet, you probably won't. New Zealand: Closed - If you didn't get one yet, you won't.

Some countries have been announced and some have not. Check the previous pages (1 and 2) to see what people have said about this. Here's the roundup so far: China: No announcements yet Singapore: No announcements yet Japan and Korea: Some announcements, possibly not concluded Australia: Closed - If you didn't get one yet, you probably won't. New Zealand: Closed - If you didn't get one yet, you won't. I'll edit this if anybody wants to update/correct.

For China applicants: I just called to ask about China specifically, and they confirmed that there have been NO China announcements yet, so there is no reason to panic yet. They're finishing up the last of the applications now, but they have to wait for some other steps before official offers are made. I guess we should get the "tentative offers" soon, but it sounds like all the announcements for China will come out at once in the near future.

PhDiddy, which host/location (or just city if you don't want to tip your mask of anonymity
-
williamtenk and PhDiddy, so glad to hear I'm not the only one who hasn't heard... Really itching to get back to China!
-
Well, Fastlane went down and came back up last night, which used to precede the posting of GRFP results. No word on EAPSI though... Any tentative offers out there for China? I'm wondering if they just haven't gotten to us, or if I should assume I've been passed over since first round offers seem to have started on Friday 2/16.

Hooray, I'm at two parties simultaneously... which is probably more than my entire life combined. One local "chat" party for our department, and the national GradCafe party. We are playing The Waiting [Drinking - email version] Game over at the department party.
-
Mine came through ~1:15AM Eastern last year. Other people have reported slightly earlier (1:05)
-
The problem is that this board is one of the top Google results for "GRFP results" so everybody who is looking for leaked results hitting this page.
-
so you're the reason i can barely get the page to load re: hacking, I think it was done a few years ago, and the consequences were not good. There's a lot of legalese in the registration about any non-intended (by NSF) use being considered hacking and the dire outcome for anyone who tries.
-
I think it is pretty suggestive, but the real answer will come ~11 tonight when we see if they go down for maintenance (which is what happened last year). I think after the 2007(?) debacle, they've decided to just shut everything down while the data gets posted and re-launch when they're ready.

Maybe it depends on location? I'm in the same browser, and it was definitely (according to my download manager) 101 bytes all morning. I went back to my office to attempt and it's definitely 123 on the same computer (laptop), same browser. How odd.
-
so the size of the Excel sheet on Fastlane just increased from 101 bytes to 123 bytes. There are no new rows, and I don't notice any other changes... but somebody must be working on something...
