I recently had to make the same decision but mine was based more on the fact that I have a better impression of LA then San Francisco and LA is also cheaper to live in and I don't have to move as far. Also the application process for CSULA was easier ( for San Francisco I would have needed to get letters of recommendation and I've been out of school for a long time).
