Thanks for this update although the fact that they are only accepting 2-3 per field is still extremely discouraging.

Nothing in the mail from NYU for me today. Guess that makes me 0/3 .

Out of curiousity what is the language(s)? Your situation sounds very similar to mine. I want to study Sino-American relations and the fact that I have very little formal class experience studying Chinese I believe has hurt me the most. Still wondering what the best way to address this problem is other than taking additional classes.

To all those who have received offers, did you all hear from professors through email before you were formally notified? So far I have recieved one rejection, Indiana, and have not heard a word really from any Professor at any other program to which I applied. Needless to say I feel very anxious right now. Is it typical to be contacted before hand before recieving an acceptance letter?
