thanks for getting back to me. I have gone to the links that you provided and they have helped me get some more information. It just seems that the process of wedding through the schools and finding the ones that will be the right fit for me is going to take a bit longer than i thought. But its well worth it so I am ready to dive in.
Thanks
Any insight into the MFT program at SFSU would be appreciated specifically between the difference between the counseling road verses the psychology road. What are the pros and cons of each and how does it compare to the MFT programs at SDSU, and the cal state colleges in Northridge, LA, and Long Beach.
I have tried to do my research on which programs I want to apply to either for a MSW or a MFT certificate in California, but I am still lost as to which would be great programs.
for the MSW I was looking at UC Berkeley, UCLA, and USC
for the MFT I am a little bit more confused. The schools below would be the ones that I would not mind going to in terms of location. But i was looking for some insight into which programs you all regarded as some of the best in California.
The Schools are:
Cal State LA
CSUN
Cal State Long Beach
Chapman University
LMU
Pepperdine
San Diego State University
San Francisco State University
USC
University of San Francisco
University of San Diego
and The Wright Institute
I have been searching high and low for any rankings on MFT programs in general but i can't find any. I would like to stay in California for several personal reasons so that is why I have limited my search.
I graduated from UC Berkeley 5 years ago and am looking to do several internships in the coming year and take the GRE to get ready to apply next year.
Any input would be greatly appreciated and thanks.
