  1. Tengo noticias de Arizona. Los profesores todav
  2. I had another experience: one school offered me TAship but not tuition waiver. I have never seen that done - at my current U. every TA receives tuition waiver and health insurance.
  3. Do most schools interview? Because when I got into my M.A. 3 years ago I was never interviewed -and I did get accepted at 4 schools (rejected by 2). At this point I have been contacted by UC Irvine, but they are still trying to find me funding. So I was wondering if I should lose hope of being accepted at the 3 other schools I am waiting for (Columbia, Berkeley)...
  4. I am working on my Ph.D in Spanish and Portuguese, and I actually completed my M.A. at this same university. We teach basic language courses in the beginning, but after one year or so you are allowed to teach writing, culture, literature courses, and even General Education (taught in English). And at my institution the faculty never teaches the basic language courses, because the TA's do so...
  5. I have heard from UC Irvine, but nothing official. They said that the admissions committee was impressed, but they had very few scholarships for int'l students (I'm one). So I am waiting upon a decision from the College of Humanities. I also got a rejection letter from Stanford, which made me even more stressed out. I keep checking my mail/e-mail a thousand times a day... Ufff... Good luck, everyone!
