  1. I won SSHRC, but not OGS for my MA. Is this normal?

I wouldn't call it normal, but it happens. It is more likely that one would win an OGS rather than a SSHRC, but I have heard your case happening before.

  2. Called my school and they said they haven't heard anything. However, the woman sounded hesitant and she said it should be "very, very soon." So I'm assuming they know but are not telling anyone as of yet.

  3. Not only was there a large envelope in my mailbox, but there were two. Unfortunately, neither were related to SSHRC. I imagine I have some waiting to do being an MA student.

  4. FYI, my letter says that 1907 applications were forwarded by Unis to SSHRC, and that the Council made offered 1085 awards.

One could assume those numbers are only for PhD applicants, right?

  5. @avsilver

You can be an undergrad, masters or PhD student. The application you fill out depends on what your 'status' will be the following September. For example, you can be in your 4th year when you apply for OGS as an upcoming masters student. Or, you can be a master student in your second year and apply as an upcoming PhD student. Or, you can be a master student in your first year and apply as a continuing masters student.

    Hope this helps.

I think what avsilver means to ask whether those who have been successful so far are MA or PhD applicants, not who can apply for these awards. smile.gif
