I have an offer from UMN CS dept for PHD and tomorrow is the last day to decide. I have a family to support. So PhD is a high risk interest for me. I have strong res exp from top res lab in US. Last but not least, I hate winter. Plus: UMN is well known for my research area. Fantastic prof's Friendly as well Questions: 1. Can i improve of chances of getting in top 10 school next year and postpone the offer to next year? 2. How good is UMN CS regarding job prospects? 3. What places do I get offers from after my PhD? help me decide !
