  1. Hello, I was considering pursuing my master's in chemical engineering and was considering applying to a few of the non-thesis master's or professional master's programs in the area. However, my undergraduate GPA is low, about 2.3. I have about 3 years professional experience and my company would be willing to fund my Master's. Also, my GRE scores are 620V 780Q 4.0A. I would just like to know if anyone has any insight or personal experience with returning for a Master's after working, and having a pretty dismal undergrad GPA.
  2. Hello, My story: I graduated from a state school on the west coast with an awful 2.3 GPA from my BS in Biochemistry. Following graduation, I worked for a biotech company as a bioprocess technician for a couple years. After relocating across the country and being unable to find a job due to the current state of the economy, I went back to school to pursue a BS in ChemE. I'm currently in my second semester, earning a 3.8GPA for the first one. I took the GRE last summer and got a 780Q 640V 4.0A. I was thinking that instead of finishing the remaining 2 years of the BS program, that I would try to apply to a low ranked MS program. I'm in NYC so I've been looking at NYU-Poly and maybe Manhattan College. Can anyone give me any insight as to whether I stand a chance? I am just looking for some general feedback. Thanks
  3. I'm considering going directly into grad school after my undergrad studies (BS in ChemE) are over. However, that is hinging on whether or not I can find a program that will be willing to give a fellowship or TA position. My question is: How often do MS's get funded? Are there certain ChemE programs that are more likely to fund than others? Thanks
