  1. hi there. I have noticed this forum is a little empty, so I'll go ahead and comment. I originally really wanted to pursue a global/international health mph, but after extensive research on what kind of opportunities exist in public health, I decided to go with epidemiology as my concentration. a lot of positions really want you to have some computer software and quatitative analysis skills, even in the various other disciplines, so I though epidemiology would allow me to markey myself in any aspect of public health, really. The tangible quantitative and analytical skills will help you in any area of discipline within public health. In my opinion, epidemiology is probably the most practical and allows for flexibility in what you want kind of research or applied health projects you may want to work on in the future. hope this was somewhat helpful
  2. Oops, I forgot. I am asking specifically about PhD programs as I am currently an MPH student and am beginning to consider a doctorate when I'm done. Thanks!
  3. Hi All. I was wondering what some of the solid health services research programs are besides Hopkins. I know that some of the concentrations within the health policy and management departments incorporate health services research, but I would just like to know more about other programs that are specifically health services research degrees. Also, looking at hopkins, I see that they also have a clinical epidemiology concentration which seems kind of similar to the health services research program. Can anyone tell me what the difference(s) is(are)? Along those lines, is it possible to apply to two programs within one school? If so, is it advisable? A reply would be much appreciated. Thanks!
