  1. I hear you there--I got four: NU, Yale, Penn, Cornell. What a shitty day.
  2. Me too, I have already called both and all I keep hearing is early this week--well it is no longer early in the week! So frustrating.
  3. Okay, again begging for news--Northwestern, anyone heard anything more about when the last of the decisions will go out? Also Indiana, any news there?
  4. Spoke to Courtney at NU and she said that admissions were rolling. Acceptances and rejections have gone out but not all acceptance, wait list, rejections have gone out. She said they will make all decisions by the end of the week--here's hoping that is true. On another note--anyone have any more info about Indiana? Last week I was told they would send out all decisions by early this week and it is now midweek...
  5. Can any of the Emory admits give a time as to when you received a call? Thanks!
  6. Congrats, sounds like an awesome offer. Good luck to you there or wherever you decide to go!
  7. Sorry, how much is the fellowship per year? The best offer I saw was 2,500 a month for 12 months.
  8. In general, I would be interested in working with Austen-Smith, so maybe that would not work out, but also Dennis Chong, James Druckman, and Anne Sartori. I would be interested in coursework/training in Kellogg. I have worked with a Professor in the Economics department of the university where I am getting a Master's who did his doctoral work at Kellogg and worked with people in the Political Science department while he was at NU. Perhaps, the admission's committee felt there wasn't a good faculty match, since I did get an admissions offer with all the rest. Alas...
  9. I am very interested in game theory/formal political theory. I am also interested in experimental methods. Substantively, I look at property rights/ environmental policy/political economy of natural resource management in the U.S.
  10. I know, I have so much work to do and I cannot focus! I am completely failing at writing a paper and studying for a game theory exam right now, thanks to my obsessive checking of thegradcafe.com and refreshing of the NU site. What are your substantive interests? Is there someone in particular at NU that you dream of working with?
  11. Just to throw my hat into the ring, I have also not heard back from NU and I am an Americanist/formal methods person. It is my top choice though. I am so sick of this waiting.
  12. Does anyone know what the deal is with Northwestern? There seem to be quite a few acceptances, but has anyone claimed these? Given the number of applicants that they get, you'd think there would be more than the few that have trickled in. Also, FYI, I spoke to Sharon at Indiana and she said all decisions would be out early next week by email. There were a few acceptances that trickled in from IU today, any news on the wait list?
  13. Of the Indiana admits, any details?
  14. Dr. Staton emailed a couple of days ago to say that decisions for Emory will go out today or at the beginning of next week. They are just waiting to hear back on how much funding they have available/how many offers they can make initially. Hope that helps!
  15. As I mentioned yesterday, a woman in my program was notified of her acceptance to Pitt yesterday afternoon. I am at a Master's program at Pitt and I am currently taking courses in the Political Science department, today I overheard additional discussion about decisions going out. So, the acceptance to Pitt is likely not a fluke given that at least a few students have heard back. Good luck to all who applied and feel free to message me if you have any questions about Pitt or the city. Also, Dr. Woon is great if any of you end up at Pitt!
