I'm a recent grad with a BA in History and Political Science but worried that my lack of sociology coursework (other than one class taken after graduating) will hinder my application to PhD programs. Many individuals have cautioned I should go straight for the PhD as funding opportunities are more lucrative.
Should I apply to more less prestigious PhD programs outside the top 10 (I already have a number of top 10 schools on my list) or should I go for the MA in Sociology, *then* apply for the PhD?
