Thanks guys. I'm so disheartened and frustrated with this entire process. Only a handful of students from my program now got admitted to grad school-I've always had a hunch that my undergrad wasn't the best, but I feel that this sort of cements that theory. Its very difficult to accept how hard you have worked for this degree, to only be shot down when you're trying to continue. I'm really hoping I have some sort of chance with UNR. The transcript in question was actually late (but I called and they said it was fine since they hadn't started reviewing apps yet) because I didn't submit it to any of my schools-it was from one semester in 1997 that I didn't do well in. I never used any of the credits and it was a completely different program. But...UNR insisted that they needed it before they reviewed my app so I had to send it in and it got there late...then this whole mess happened (when they actually received it but didn't realize it (I still don't get this) so they didn't forward my app). Sorry about the ranting and major over-use of parenthesis. I'll update you all after I speak with the department tomorrow. -

Called them-found out they never forwarded my app for review because they thought it was missing a transcript that was actually indeed there (they called and told me it was underneath something with my maiden name) so they never saw my app and have already made decisions. I was holding out a little hope with them...but not so much now. They did suggest I call the department to see if they would review it and possibly put me on the wait list. I'm so angry and feel that I deserve a chance, but not much I can do. -

Anyone know anything about Nevada-Reno? I heard all of their letters were mailed out last week, but I've yet to see anything in my mailbox... -

So, since things aren't looking so good for me (rejected at 5 out of the 6 schools I've applied to, waiting on one) I've decided that I need to start working on my next plan of action. Does anyone know of which schools may have a late admission? I've heard rumors of June and July deadlines. Also, which schools/programs have spring admissions? I am not restricted to a certain geographic area. Schools that accept lower GPAs and GRE scores a plus. -

So there's a letter here from Northeastern-seems so far the trend is that they're mailing out the letters USPS and posting the acceptances online. I'm not even opening it. Already had one rejection today. That's my limit. Congrats to everyone hearing back and getting good news! -

I wish you much luck! I can not wait to get my first acceptance! I'm really losing it...and all of my friends have received acceptances (some have multiples) and it's making me feel pretty down. P.S. I've lived in Kissimmee and I know how you must feel -

I am certain it's at least a little outdated, since the email sent out to us today said they had 500 applicants. I'm really hoping they still accept at least 57 though! I'm so nervous...wondering how they sent out emails today. I wonder if it was by last name? I am at the end (way end) of the alphabet, so I wonder if I'll be waiting 'till Wednesday -

Does anyone know how many seats there are at Colorado-Boulder? I'm so nervous, I feel like I'm going to break gmail with all of my checking. I'm still also waiting to hear from Northeastern and UNR (the former should be this week-ish, the latter probably in a week or two). -

You go to your account/edit your account...then on the side (I think left side) there's an option for you "signature". That's where you can fancy it up! Hope that helps! Also, good luck! -

I plan to work with children with CIs. It's something I've wanted to do for well over 10 years, (never thought I'd go back to school) I was a nanny for a child with a CI and was the main caregiver for her. I'll never forget the difference that speech therapy made and I can't wait to do that for other children. -
I finally emailed the Dept chair at Ithaca- (had visited in beginning of Feb and was told to expect a decision in a few days) and received this today: Good morning April-- Your application currently is in a group we have marked for further consideration. It's a little like purgatory, you're not in but your not out either. Essentially, we have reviewed your file but no decision has been made yet. I will stay in touch with you. Feel free to get back to me if you have questions. First of all, I'm happy about this. This was a school I wasn't sure I'd be considered for since they didn't require a SOP, and basically went off of my numbers (not great). I have very strong LORs so I know I have that going for me, and I visited the program and met with him so that he would get to know/see me and learn about my intentions and goals. Second of all, how should I reply to the email? I want to put myself in a good light and make him want me in his program. Is there anything I can say at this point to help? Thanks
