Hi everyone,
I can't believe I didn't know about this website or these forums until today. Guess I'll join the commiseration! I noticed some posts asking about info from certain schools awhile back but it's a bit late to respond to those individually, so here's what I've got so far:
Accepted: University of Maryland at College Park (SDOS), University of Kansas, University of Hawaii at Manoa (Community and Culture-- already turned down)
Interviewed but still waiting: University of Toronto, Georgetown (Human Development and Public Policy)
Blindly waiting: UC Santa Barbara, UC Davis, Stanford (Personality), University of Virginia, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, University of British Columbia, Iowa State University
Rejected: University of Michigan (surprise! haha)
To the person who got into Kansas: Congrats, and I got the same message about funding! Who are you interested in working with there?
For people who applied to UVA: I went to UVA as an undergrad and know that at least 3 of the professors I worked with in Social are not likely to accept students due to funding, too many students, etc. I applied anyway because I'm still miffed that they made me graduate and leave the place! However, I haven't made any inquiries lately (awkward since I don't want professors to worry about me taking it personally) so your guess is as good as mine!
Some of the information I've read about interviews/recruitment weekends at UCSB and UC Davis is discouraging, but I suppose it's still optimistic to keep fingers crossed for a spot on the waiting list. I live in Japan right now, and I get very impatient waiting for mail! It's a convenient excuse for why my heaps of acceptance letters with extravagant fellowships haven't arrived yet, but I suppose the distance excuse doesn't hold well for email. :-) Congrats to everyone on acceptances so far!
